Congratulations… Craig Duncan OAM
One of HydroChem’s valued team members, Craig Duncan, was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia on Australia Day last month. The medal was awarded to Craig for service with the Army Reserves – particularly his conduct during the emergency responses to the fires of 2009 and the floods of 2010/11.
In the Australian honours system, appointments to the Order of Australia confer the highest recognition for outstanding achievement and service. The Military Division of the Order of Australia has four levels for service and performance of duties, with the OAM being the highest award possible.
Army Reserves
Craig has been participating in the Army reserves for over 25 years. Throughout that period, he has taken time out of work and family to assist in the training and development of army reserves members. The OAM was awarded to Craig for his contribution to the Reserves and his conduct during the emergency responses to the floods of 2010 /11 and the fires of 2009.
Craig @ HydroChem
Craig began with us as a services tech in 1984 then worked his way through the ranks to become Team Leader, CAP Coordinator and is now responsible for the Risk Management team and Workcover return to work.
Craig has always thanked HydroChem for giving him the time to participate in Army Reserves. This flexibility has given him the opportunity to be involved in emergency response operations which, by their nature, cannot be planned in advance.
We appreciate Craig’s involvement with the Army Reserves – it gives something back to the community and gives us some external perspective within the Risk Management side of the business.
